Ordering, Shipping and Billing Information

Ordering

Because of the cost of processing, we regret that our minimum amount for online orders is $75. Orders over that amount may be cancelled when we receive them. There is no minimum for telephone and fax orders.

To order by phone, please call our Customer Service line at 718-875-2424 or 866-875-2424 (toll free outside NYC).

To order by PO or fax, please fax your signed purchase order (or signed order on official letterhead) to 718-935-1640.

Please provide us with phone numbers where you can be reached during business hours.

Our business hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:15 AM to 5:45 PM Eastern Time.

 

Standard Shipping and Handling Charges

Shipping and handling charges for other items are generally assessed as follows:

Special Freight Charges

We reserve the right to charge more for shipping and handling if it would cost us more than the above amounts to ship and handle your order. These are called special freight charges, and we will notify you if these charges apply. We will not charge you any special shipping fees without contacting you first.

Furniture, equipment, and other heavy items are normally shipped directly from the manufacturer to you ("F.O.B factory"); this is called "drop shipping." Freight (shipping and handling) charges for these drop-ship items are calculated separately from the shipping and handling on the rest of your order. You are always responsible for paying these freight charges, regardless of the total amount of your order.

 

Back Orders

Unless you specify otherwise, we normally SHIP COMPLETE. This means that any items that are currently out of stock at our store and warehouse will result in a back order, and we will hold your entire order until the backordered items from the manufacturer(s) and/or publisher(s) arrive at our warehouse. When we receive the backordered items in our warehouse, we will ship your entire order.

Alternatively, you can tell us when you place your order that you want us to SHIP INCOMPLETE. This means that we will ship you all of the items that are in stock, and send the back-ordered items to you separately when we receive them from our supplier(s). Additional shipping and handling charges may apply for these separate shipments.

Finally, you can tell us when you place your order that you want us to CANCEL ANY BACKORDERS. This means that we will ship only the items that are currently in stock, and we will remove any out-of- stock items from your order (and only charge you for the items that are in stock).

 

Billing and Payment

If you are paying by credit card, we will charge the card when your order is ready to ship. We will not charge your credit card until we are ready to ship your order.

When you receive your merchandise, you will find attached to your packing list a statement reflecting your final order total, including any shipping and handling fees (as described above). If we are shipping to a home or business in the state of New York, we are required to charge New York State sales tax and will include that in your statement as well. Tax will NOT be assessed on orders shipped to non-profit schools and organizations, or to addresses outside New York.
